Thomas Neff, or "Neff" as we generally referred to him around the lab, was a professor of mine at LSU. He has recently released a book entitled Holding Out And Hanging On: Surviving Hurricane Katrina which is the story of New Orleans residents who stayed behind in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. There are numerous books out there that deal with the destruction Katrina left behind, but few deal with the people that actually lived through it.
